Norazlan Ahmad

Nor Azlan Ahmad is a Malaysian contemporary artist, curator, and art educator with over 20 years of experience in the visual arts. As the founder of d’Arte Fren Colony (Artgeng) and NoAh Artspace, he has helped develop creative communities, support young artists, and organise impactful exhibitions across Malaysia and the region. His art focuses on Islamic Abstract Expressionism and Malay–Islamic abstraction, combining cultural heritage, spirituality, and contemporary visual language. Nor Azlan is also known for using Kayuliat, a unique medium made from wood dust, to create textured and expressive abstract works. Beyond his studio practice, he serves as a national trainer in visual arts education, mentoring students and promoting art as a tool for learning, identity, and community development. He has curated thousands of artworks for major exhibitions, including the Artgeng Online Exhibitions (AOE) and shows in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Nor Azlan believes art is a meaningful experience that reflects values, culture, and the human spirit.
